The Lending Journey Microfinance rebuilding homes in poor communities

Operation Raise The Roof

Rebuilding Communities We Serve

“we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to do.”        Ephesians 2:10 ESV

The Lending Journey is not a transactional micro-finance charity; we connect with and walk alongside every borrower and their families. We're there when life happens!  We have helped to rebuild homes, provide food to families when a breadwinner is sick and cannot work to support their family and have provided clothing to communities after natural disasters.

Operation Raise the Roof: Rebuilding Communities We Serve

Hurricanes have ravaged Nicaragua, especially homes in the poorest communities. The Lending Journey is replacing the badly damaged roofs of houses belonging to young women and seniors who do not have social assistance.  These roofs are so damaged that the rain pours in.

We have arranged with local churches in San Benito and Monte Fresco to supply free labour. The Lending Journey is raising money to pay for the supplies.  Our goal is to rebuild 10 roofs at a cost of $3,800.00 USD.

A Message from The Lending Journey: In 2023 we have issued 115  loans and rebuilt damaged roofs in communities we serve in Nicaragua.
