The Lending Journey Heroes: Inspiring Stories

Every one of the micro-finance entrepreneurs The Lending Journey supports are heroes to their families, their communities,  our donors and all of us at The Lending Journey.  Their  economic and social challenges are significant barriers to their success, yet they have all overcome these barriers and have built sustainable businesses that financially support their entire families.   We are so thankful for these relationships.

We would like to introduce you to some of the people who we have supported with micro-loans.  We believe you will be humbled and inspired by their stories as much as we are.

Estelle
Estelle

Estelle would never be able to start her restaurant because banks consider her a very high default risk - interest rates would be typically between 30 and 40% for anyone in her economic class. A TLJ microloan gave Estelle the funds she needed to start and expand her restaurant. Read her story and see her in action.

Yahira
Yahira

At birth Yahira's mother gave her away. From the very start, she had no chance of living a normal life. When meeting her for the first time we immediately shared how we could help and built a relationship with her. Yahira took out several microloans to build one of the most successful businesses in the TLJ family.

Tomasa
Tomasa

Tomasa's pharmacy was close to failing because of a typical black market loan charging 100% interest. Read how she worked with TLJ to save her business.

Monica
Monica

Monica's story is both inspiring and a typically vulnerable person who wanted to make a better life for her family. Let us tell you her story.
